7 Powerful Insights: Exploring the Essence of France FemDom with Inanna Justice

What’s going on, France FemDom?

As you may already know, Inanna Justice is no stranger to the Podopheleus site. On my site, she has already educated us on BDSM roleplay and collaring, and we also discussed her amazing book, THE HEART OF A DOMINATRIX. Now, in this interview, we learn all about France FemDom. Yes, for those of you who don’t know, Inanna lives in France. France FemDom is an exciting new event that Inanna Justice is currently working on.

You’re probably thinking, hold on a sec; what is France FemDom? What’s it all about? Does France have a Femdom scene, and if so, what’s it like? Okie dokie, that’s why I decided to interview Inanna Justice so she can tell us all about it. Are you ready? Let’s do this!

France FemDom Interview with Inanna Justice

 1. Tell us a bit about France FemDom—what is it, and when does it take place?

France FemDom is the first international, three-day event celebrating female domination in France. It will take place in Paris from June 27 to 29, 2024. After attending other multi-day FemDom events in Europe, I was inspired to do the same in France. The networking opportunities at this type of event are just incredible. We meet women from all over the world, some with very little experience, some with decades under their belts.

One of the things that I really wanted to include was an educational/training element to the event. We are all aware of the importance of networking for professional reasons, but I feel that ongoing skills training is something that’s often overlooked, particularly for those of us that have more experience. The workshops focus on soft skills (the psychology behind why we do what we do), but there will also be several demonstrations on hard skills such as trampling, wax play, and more.

2. What inspired the concept behind France FemDom?

As I mentioned, attending other FemDom events was a big driver in creating France FemDom, but there are other things that played a role.

As your readers may know, in 2022, I published a book called The Heart of the Dominatrix, which is a collection of interviews and photographs from 21 Dominatrices from around the world. That project was born right after the first confinement in France, when I was feeling quite isolated from my community. Through Heart, I realized the power of bringing women from around the world together, albeit in print form for the book.

For the last five or so years, I’ve organised many events for pro Dommes, including workshops on safer practices and a monthly munch. I’ve been wanted to branch out and include lifestyle Dommes in those workshops and gatherings, and earlier this year, started an association to do just that. With the Kinky Saloon France, we host a “Members Only” munch as well as various workshops on a variety of hard and soft skills.

3. Who is France FemDom designed for, and what do you envision participants gaining from the experience?

France FemDom is for both lifestyle and professional Dominatrices, and those that love us! I think that a lot of people believe that you need to be an experienced pro Domme to attend this sort of event, but that’s not true. Quite the opposite! For those of us with more experience, we love sharing our stories, giving guidance, and helping our ” younger” sisters. And the newbies have things to teach us and remind us! Each woman has her own life experience that can contribute to the event (and BDSM in general).

Sometimes more experienced Dommes get so involved in creating elaborate scenes that we forget the basics. I’m guilty of that myself! For example, a few weeks ago, I was digging around in boxes and pulled out some candles and a humbler: things that I haven’t played with for years. And you know what? I’ve thoroughly been enjoying bringing back some simple things into my elaborate sessions.

New Dommes can help remind the more experienced ones about that sort of thing, be it a gadget that we haven’t used for a long time or a particular point about the psychology behind a session.

Of course, there will be a lot of Mistresses there with years, if not decades, of lifestyle and/or professional experience. Many of us want to transmit our skills and our knowledge to others in order to keep ourselves and our beloved subs safe(r) while doing naughty things.

While the focus is on women (cis and trans) and female domination, I didn’t want it to exclude anyone. I think it’s important for submissives to attend this sort of event to meet other people with the same mindset, rub elbows with the ladies, and to learn and grow. I’ll even allow male Doms to attend… if they fully understand that this event is about female power and domination. Male Doms could really learn a lot from attending more soft skills workshops, but that’s another subject completely.

4. How have you visualised the appearance and unfolding of France FemDom?

That’s a difficult question to respond to, as there are many activities planned for the weekend. There are educational opportunities (the “Kinky Paris” tour and Friday’s workshops), plenty of time for networking and planning projects with other Dommes, and of course entertainment and play aspect with performances and the party on Saturday.

Because the program is so varied, each day will be different. That said, the venues that I’ve selected are all top-notch, showcasing the beautiful city that I call home with the elegance and class that Paris evokes in our imagination. Paris is a city of artists, the City of Lights, the city of love.

Speaking of art, I wanted to make a connection between the arts and our practices. My dear friend (and Domina d’exception) Diane De Séléné has been writing about these connections on the blog: BDSM and the theatre, BDSM and sculpture, BDSM and dance… BDSM is more than single tails and latex catsuits (although we adore those). It is about aesthetics, beauty, connection. It is an art in itself, one that takes many years to master, just as is the case for other art forms.

I want people to think of all those things and more when they are here for France FemDom: the architecture, the museums, the gastronomy, the history, the language, the culture… France FemDom is an immersive experience that will touch all the senses!

 5. Can you describe the BDSM/femdom scene in France? Do you see France FemDom as a potential evolution in the French BDSM spectrum?

I’ve been living in France for about eight years, and have seen lots of changes in the BDSM/kink scene here. When I arrived, there were just a few kinky parties happening each month. Now you can find something nearly every night of the week in the capital, whether it’s a munch, a rope jam, or a play party. It’s fabulous to see friends creating their own associations, starting parties, and making kink of various flavours a bit more accessible.

The France FemDom scene has absolutely exploded in the last eight years, which is another reason that I think France FemDom will be a huge success. There is a true need for this sort of event, on a local level as well as on an international level. I see the enthusiasm in women’s eyes when they hear about France FemDom, and I am so thrilled to provide this space for all of us to connect in June and beyond.

That’s something that I think is understated about this sort of event: the richness that goes far beyond the three days that we’re together. It starts from the moment someone decides to come, and lasts many months or even years after the event. For example, once a woman has bought her ticket, we send posts from the dedicated Twitter account so that she can start connecting with other attending Dommes right away. We also do our best to boost her publicity (although I’m only one person taking care of social media…). This can provide opportunities to plan collaborations before or during the event.

During these events, we are able to chat with other women that we admire, plan get-togethers or content collaborations, or simply chat about our views on FemDom and kink. These experiences stay with us for years to come.

6. France FemDom seems reminiscent of a kinky retreat; was this the intention?

It wasn’t the intention, but I can see that. In my mind, a FemDom retreat would be lounging on the beach with a drink in hand, one of my faithful servants lovingly massaging my feet. France FemDom is much more energy-packed than that! While there is some downtime on Saturday during the day, from Thursday afternoon until the wee hours Sunday morning, there are activities planned. Of course, guests aren’t required to attend all the events, although it’s highly recommended (who would want to miss out on all of these fabulous things?!).

A lot of women will be traveling from other countries, and I encourage them to take a few days to spend in Paris and elsewhere in France if they haven’t had the opportunity to explore here yet. It truly is a magical city and simply getting lost in the cobblestone streets can feed your dreams.

7. Once France FemDom is successfully executed, what projects are you considering next? Have you ever thought about creating a Femdom Paris-themed park?

This question shows how well you know me, Pod! For the moment, France FemDom is THE project that I’m working on, although I always have about a thousand other things that I’d like to do. I’m consecrating all of my creative energy to building an event that people will be talking about for a long time after the event is through.

That said, there are other projects that I will certainly get moving on once France FemDom is finished. And a kinky retreat in the French countryside doesn’t sound like too bad of an idea…

The best way to stay up to date with my projects is to follow me on Twitter and to sign up for my bilingual newsletter. I’m also on BlueSky, Instagram and Facebook, but am a bit less active. My most recent creative project Butt-ler (a photographic collaboration with my dear friend and fellow Dominatrix, Madame Lule) is now online. And you can find my book The Heart of the Dominatrix here. Tickets to France FemDom are available here, and you can also make a contribution to the event here

P.S. Did you know that I recently published a book titled “SEXUAL EQUANIMITY”? It is a BDSM story told through an emotional journal, somewhat like the submissive version of Bridget Jones.

Sexual Equanimity is written in the style of a journal, covering topics of managing emotions, understanding desires, and finding balance in sexuality. If this sounds like an interesting concept, it’s now available on Amazon and Goodreads in Kindle, ebook, and paperback formats.
