How to become a Dominatrix? Miss Kim Rub & her ‘Mistress Workshop’

Podopheleus interviews Miss Kim Rub – Mistress Workshop

Hello, kinky ones! Okay, so, how does one become a pro domme? What does it mean to be a professional Dominatrix? Is it all cuffs, ropes and whips? 🤔💭➰🔗

I am no expert, that’s why I decided to interview someone who is an expert in this topic — Miss Kim Rub!

Before we get started, I asked Miss Kim Rub to write a little introduction about herself.

Introducing Miss Kim Rub

Miss Kim Rub

My name is Miss Kim Rub. I’ve been on the London fetish scene for 34 years now. I started my fetish history as a clubber. It started when I found myself in a fetish club. It should have been scary but it wasn’t – I felt like I’d found my place in the world. Then six years later I went on to start my own fetish club, then started my Mistress Workshop years ago, and just five years ago became a professional dominatrix.

Of course, during these 34 years there have been many other various fetish-related projects which can be viewed on my Mistressworkshop.com in the My-story section. It’s my history, with all of the past and current websites for each individual thing that I’m involved in. Of which, there are a lot!

I like to think of myself as a very active member of the UK fetish community. My main focus at the moment is that of a professional dominatrix and a BDSM educator. Although, I do have a rubber-only fetish club called Rubber-Cult.com twice a year.

1. What is the purpose of the workshop? Is the workshop for all women or a specific group of women and what is the name of this workshop?

My Mistressworkshop.com, now in its 10th year, was every month prior to the pandemic. Details of costs are on the website. Now I operate my workshops individually, where I have ladies come to my studio space and I teach them online. This I love as ladies can be anywhere in the UK, and all over the world.

It’s a basic workshop that teaches ladies how to take control and be the dominant one in the relationship. Ladies come in many, many different guises; from married home users, to side-hustle part-time workers, online hobbies, to show-off party players. I think people automatically assume that my workshops are for pro dommes, and this is not the case at all.

Even the small percentage that do come because they wish to join the profession, I’d say 5% to 10% may be put off by the end of the workshop, when they realise that it’s not just about picking up a whip. That’s because there is a lot of work involved, not just learning, marketing, equipment, logistics, down-time etc. But oh, so much more!

I teach all women of all ages, of all colours, all shapes, all nationalities and all interests. Some ladies just want to know about dominating their sissy husband, or they want to go to parties and show off, or just want to know how to hit somebody on the bottom correctly.

It’s different things to different people. However, the one thing I never ever do is, tell somebody how to specifically do it! I teach them all the endless possibilities of how they can look, act, speak, specialise, demand, control etc. For some it will be pure performance, others will be interested in the all-various different subjects and want to immerse themselves into the culture and history. I certainly don’t ever tell anyone what to do. We should all find our own way.

2. To my understanding YOU HAVE A workshop that is completely free. Are there any hidden fees that we should be aware of? If not, what’s in it for you?

So, I don’t want anybody to think that the Mistressworkshop.com for the last 10 years has been free, because that’s not what is free. My four- or five-hour long workshops are £150 for the basics and £180 for the added Pro Domme information. However, I’ve started a new page on

OnlyFans.com/mistressworkshop and it’s a free page.  If you don’t already have a profile you can sign up to OnlyFans.com/mistressworkshop with your credit card. Your credit card will not get used unless you authorise it. Credit cards stop fake accounts being made. This free page is for the girls who are looking for BDSM tips and hints, fetish info and motivational stuff.

Every day I put something up, from how-to-win-friends-and-influence-people, to how to get your arse into action, to how to clean your equipment…so it’s not just a one-dimensional thing. Women, I believe, we’ve got this; we know it and we know how to do it!

Just sometimes is the motivation to get up off the sofa, that is the hardest thing! I aim to give them some formulas, PMA and tips that’s going to whet their appetite and makes them go “yeah I want to do it, I can’t wait to get going”!  Skills sharing information to help ladies prosper and become better at what they do.

3. Why are you doing this workshop and what inspired you to create it?

The ‘How to be a dominatrix’ or Mistress workshop.com that is now in its 10th year started out of a need for one really. With the exception of the occasional month, I’ve not missed (not counting the pandemic) any. It has operated almost every month, and I have helped so many ladies. Quite a few of them I see on Twitter everyday. I actually can’t wait to get back to the group workshops again. The monthly workshops are so much fun. Plus, the ladies all get to meet others and connect.

It’s a win, win for me as the past two years I have been able to get to know them better, on a one-to-one class basis.  My workshop can’t teach everything you need to know in the course of one afternoon. To become a pro domme, or any sort of domme really, you need to put the hours in. A real passion and interest for the subject really helps.

I show ladies where to find information, teach formulas to learning and guidance on many forms of BDSM play and fetishes. I certainly teach lots and lots of motivational tips and explain some of the terminology around each individual aspect. If you apply yourself, like you would to learn any skill-set, then you don’t really need to go anywhere else.

For those ladies that want to fast track a subject, I teach two hour ‘deep dive’ workshops on Anal Play and Pegging, Wax Play, Needle Play and CP/Impact Play.  Searching for this information can take time, there are a lot of different subjects, so why not let me help you with a few of them as it’s only £100 each class mentioned. However, you can do it yourself, it’s all out there.

I know every woman goes away armed with all the information she needs to start her BDSM journey with confidence. It is up to the individual to learn at their own pace, in the subjects they are interested in.

4. How does the workshop work? How long is it for? Is the Mistress Workshop in person or virtual?

How to become a dominatrix? I am more than happy to do my Mistress Workshop on any day of the week. Either in-person as a one-to-one or online (I usually use Zoom for that).  Simply give me a call on 07778596047, then I can ask specific questions about your circumstances. For instance, if you’re a home-user, if you live with your partner, if you’re in a long-distance relationship, if you’ve got children etc. All of those things are really important, so I can work around those specific wants, needs and desires…to come up with a sort of workshop and the information that is pertinent to that particular lady’s lifestyle.

I like to talk with ladies, rather than asking them to sign-up to a non-descript email form online. It doesn’t really help me or serve you. I’m a great believer in picking up the phone. As you know Mr Podopheleus! Yes, we were on the phone for an hour!

5. Do you offer further assistance afterwards? A certificate?

The ladies are sent an email afterwards with lots of information we have touched on in the workshop; hundred kinky tips that I’ve compiled over the years, formulas to gathering information etc. I’m also 100% here for the ladies after every single Mistress Workshop. Which means they can call me, text me, email me, message me on Twitter, on Fetlife or Instagram…failing that, send a pigeon! Even if it’s five years later.

I’m always going to be there for whoever I’ve taught before. The road will always lead back to me, and that’s that’s a great place to be in, to know that you know you can always ask another question. It doesn’t have to be done in the lesson, so that’s invaluable. Knowing that you’ve got somebody to ask. I started out an educator before I became a pro domme.  Information sharing is not common with pro dommes. However, I’m not going to stop doing what I enjoy, and I really enjoyed teaching.

6. And finally, what else are you working on?

My next project is lots of small little bite-size mini workshops on various subjects. They will be available through OnlyFans.com/mistressworkshop and very very affordable. Watch this space.
