Anyhoo! So, back in November 2021 I interviewed Inanna justice in relation to one of my favourite kinky activities. Can you guess what it is? 🤔💭👮♀️👩⚕️👩🚒 Yup, you got it – BDSM ROLEPLAY!!
Just in case you missed it, here’s a link to our interview.
It’s a freaking awesome interview, right? So, myself and Inanna justice, well, we have stayed in touch ever since, and when she told me about Her new book ‘THE HEART OF THE DOMINATRIX’ I wanted to learn more.
Before I introduce you to Inanna Justice, well, I want to let you all know that I have ordered the hardcover of ‘The Heart of the Dominatrix: Portraits and Interviews of Exceptional Mistresses’ and I want to encourage you to do the same. Firstly, let’s support our community. Secondly, let’s support self-published authors.
Introducing Inanna Justice

Thanks for inviting me to contribute to your marvelous website again, Pod. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you virtually, and I look forward to meeting you in person soon.
For those of you that don’t know me, I’m Inanna Justice, a pro-Domme based in Paris, France. I’m always looking for new ways to entertain myself and my subs. Last year, I created a board game, Inannapoly. I’m currently working on an escape game for my dungeon, The Justice Room, which I hope to finish this year.
I’m quite active in the BDSM community in France and host several events including a monthly pro-Domme dinner, a munch and play in my dungeon, The Justice Room, and various FemDom play parties. I also organize workshops on safer play for Dommes, ranging from general first aid to how to (more) safely strangle your partner.
This project is an extension of what I do on a regular basis: bring women together to share our mutual interest in female domination.
Firstly, congratulations on creating your first book, tell us a little bit about it?

Thank you! I’m very proud of this book. What started out as an idea thrown out to a couple of Domme girlfriends one evening has blossomed into a project that has taken well over 18 months to come together.
The Heart of the Dominatrix features 21 women from around the world, hailing from six continents. Each one is known for a particular practice: corporal punishment, hypnosis, ABDL (adult baby diaper lover), medical fetishism, and many more. One of the things that I wanted to do with this project is to show the diversity of FemDom. We all have different practices, different philosophies, different approaches to female domination. What I looked for when searching for women to join the project was an unmistakable passion, something that set her apart from the crowd.
Each chapter features one woman with gorgeous pictures, but more importantly, a deeper look into her FemDom life and philosophy. Having read many interviews over the years, I felt that the questions were often quite superficial. I wanted to dig deeper with these interviews. Does she have a gynarchic/matriarchal perspective of FemDom? Does she live the lifestyle 24/7 or is it “just” a job? What are her motivations? Does her lifestyle shape her politics, and how do politics shape her lifestyle? And so on…
In my experience, most interviewers either aren’t pro-Dommes or perhaps not even in the BDSM scene. I think that my experience as a pro and lifestyle Domme really helped me create a list of questions that get to the heart of the matter: the big “why” behind female domination, and more specifically, when it’s also a business.
I was blown away by the responses of these women. While going through them, there were so many things that validated my own views, but many more that gave me a completely different perspective. I’ve learned so much about them, but also about myself. It made me ask myself some important questions, which is what I hope readers will do when they get this book in their hands.
Who is this book destined for?

This was a question that I have been asking myself from the beginning, as the audience certainly plays a role in how I wanted to present the book. For me, the book is for anyone interested in female domination, the aesthetics of this world (the pictures are truly stunning), challenging social norms, alternative sexuality, or simply the curious.
But truth be told, this project is destined for women. I know that you wonderful submissive men will be lining up to get your copy (as you should), but sharing these stories amongst women is really what I strive to do. I feel that often as a pro Domme we feel quite isolated. This project was another way for me to try and unite women, like the Dîner de Dommes (Domme Dinners) and other events that I organise.
When working with the graphic designer, it was really important for me to have something that was visually appealing for everyone, not just submissive men. Keeping in mind that women are often less visually-driven in their fantasies than men was something that drove me to find a female designer for the cover. I wanted something sensual enough to appeal to a wider audience (not just subs) and at the same time, something that evoked fetishism and female power.
Also, as I mentioned previously, I found parts of myself while going through each response, but it also made me challenge my own views. I think this is healthy and necessary to grow as a woman… or just as a person in general. Beyond that, I want to show vanilla ladies that certain aspects of female domination can easily be incorporated into relationships so that they and their partners can flourish. I hope that this book gets some mainstream traction and helps introduce women not in the scene to the potential pleasure of D/s dynamics.
What motivated you to create a book dedicated solely to women?
Haven’t there been enough books dedicated just to men?!
You have so many influential Mistresses featured in your book, so how did this come about?

Indeed, I’m very fortunate that some very well-known Mistresses accepted to participate in this project. Thanks to social media, notably Twitter, I have built up a great community over the years. Some of the women in the book are friends in real life, some of them I only know through social media.
I didn’t only want to feature the big names of social media, although some of them are. What I looked for when contacting women is something that sets them apart from the crowd. I could have easily gotten many more women on board if I hadn’t been looking for specialists, but for this book, I really wanted to focus on those that have one or two specific practrices that they take to the next level.
Why is sisterhood so important to you?
Again, in the business of female domination, we are often quite isolated aside from the interactions with our clients. Having other women that we can turn to for guidance is so empowering and enriching. It helps us manage stress, it helps us grow in our practices and philosophies, and it makes us ask ourselves the big questions. When we’re isolated, I believe that it’s harder to grow and continue to challenge ourselves, as we are relying solely on our own experiences.
I cannot begin to say how grateful I am for the women in my life. I am stronger, wiser, and feel more secure in both my personal and professional life. Humans are social animals, and we thrive in groups. In a male-dominated world, it’s so important that women create strong, lasting bonds with one another.
I am certain that if I didn’t have my Domme sisters, I wouldn’t be where I am today… In fact, this book was conceived when having dinner with two of them! Had I been with male friends when I pitched the idea, it may have just died there on the spot. Instead, I am here doing this interview with you. They challenged and supported me from the moment I first talked about the idea. That is precious, and I am so grateful to have such fabulous women in my life.
Do you feel that the BDSM scene brings women together to form stronger bonds? If yes, why is that?

Yes and no. I think that for those of us who want to create a community, BDSM helps bring us together, just like any other hobbies, philosophies, or interests do. Unfortunately, there are a lot of women that believe that any new Domme on the scene, professional or lifestyle, is a threat. While I’m not of that mindset, I have seen quite a lot of cattiness amongst women.
I find it such a shame, because as I mentioned before, the power of sisterhood is so important, particularly when we’re on the fringes of society. Being a woman can be difficult. Being a strong and powerful one even more so. Then you add in the fact that we have desires that fall outside the norm. That should be a source of solidarity, not negativity!
On the other hand, when women in the scene get together, look out! In general, my relationships with my Domme friends are even more profound than with some of my long-time vanilla friends. The fact that we share “unusual” desires tends to create strong bonds as a deep level of trust is needed to
How does your book differentiate itself from other BDSM books? And how can we get a copy?

As far as I know, this is the first book of its kind. I have yet to find another of this quality that has both pictures and interviews, and certainly not with specialists from around the world. Something that I think is worth noting is that it is, on one hand, a view of FemDom at this moment in time, and on the other hand, a timeless collection that could be read not taking into account when it was put together.
The book is now available on Amazon. I highly recommend buying a hardback copy, but if that’s not an option for you, the ebook is available here.
Please note that 10% of the profits from this book will be going back to the women that participated. It’s my way of sharing the love and encouraging this community of fabulous women.
